CPR
and First Aid Courses
– recommend for ages 15 & up
Adult
CPR/AED (approx. 5 hours)
Learn to recognize and provide care for breathing, choking and cardiac emergencies
in adults and proper use of an AED. An automated external defibrillator
(AED) is a device used to deliver an electrical shock to the heart (defibrillation)
of a victim of sudden cardiac. Upon
successful completion of this course, participants will receive an Adult
CPR/AED certification valid for one (1) year.
First Aid Basics (approx. 4 hours)
The course teaches participants to recognize and provide care for
severe bleeding, shock, burns, sprains, fractures, poisoning, heat/cold
emergencies, and sudden
illness. Upon successful completion
of this course, participants will receive a First Aid certification
valid for three (3) years.
Infant and Child CPR (approx. 5 hours)
Learn to recognize and provide care for breathing, choking and cardiac emergencies
in infants (ages 0-1) and children (ages 1 – 8). Upon successful completion of this course,
participants will receive an Infant and Child CPR certification
valid for one (1) year.
CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
(approx. 9 hours)
This course
is designed for lifeguards, EMTs, police officers,
nurses and others who have a “duty to respond” in an
emergency situation. Participants
will learn how to recognize and provide care for breathing
and cardiac emergencies in adults, children and infants;
perform two rescuer CPR; use and AED; resuscitation
mask and bag-valve mask. Please note that this course does not include
First Aid training. Upon
successful completion of this course, participants
will receive a CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification
valid for one (1) year.
Pet First Aid for
Cats and Dogs (approx. 4 hours)
You will learn how to provide immediate
care for your cats and dogs due to common illnesses,
injury and life-threatening conditions using basic
first aid techniques until veterinary care is available.
Upon successful completion of this course, participants
will receive Pet First Aid and CPR certification.

Youth
Courses
Babysitter’s Training (approx. 4
hours) – for ages 12 & up
Provides individuals with the information and skills necessary to provide safe
and responsible care for children in the absence of parents or adult guardians. This
training will help participants develop skills in five critical areas:
leadership, safety and safe play, basic care, first
aid and professionalism. Upon successful
completion of this course, participants will receive a Babysitter’s
Training certification.
Infant and Child CPR for Youth (approx. 5 hours) – designed for
ages 12 - 15
Ideal for babysitters, learn to recognize and provide care for breathing, choking
and cardiac emergencies in infants (ages 0-1) and children (ages 1 – 8). Upon
successful completion of this course, participants will receive an Infant
and Child CPR certification valid for one (1) year.

Lifeguard and Aquatics Courses
Guard Start (approx. 6 hours) – for ages 11 - 14
Provides a foundation of aquatic and leadership knowledge,
attitudes, and skills for future successful completion of the Red
Cross Lifeguard Training course.
Lifeguard Training (approx.
36 hours) – for ages 15 & up
Learn lifeguard skills and knowledge needed to prevent and respond to aquatic
emergencies. Participants must be able to pass a swimming skills pre-test
prior to the start of this course. Upon successful completion of this course,
participants will receive a Lifeguarding and First Aid certification
valid for three (3) years and a CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification
valid for one (1) year.
Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Aide (approx.
12 hours) – for ages 10 & up
Learn skills needed to assist Water Safety Instructors during swim classes.
Learn-To-Swim Program (course lengths vary) – ages 5 & up
Seven levels of instruction designed to help swimmers of all
ages and abilities develop and refine their skills. These
swim lessons are generally held by area swimming facilities.

Instructor Trainer Courses
First Aid/CPR/AED for the
Lay Responder Instructor Training (approx. 24 hours)
The purpose of the First Aid/CPR/AED Program
Instructor course is to train instructor candidates
to teach American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Classes. Participants
must hold current American Red Cross certifications
in Adult, Child & Infant CPR, First Aid Basics
and AED Training.
