Disaster Action Team

The Disaster Action Team (DAT) is a response unit comprised of volunteers that are available through shifts to respond to local emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. In responding to these emergencies, they provide for the immediate needs of the victims. This includes securing short-term lodging and meals for all family members (including pets) until such time as the office staff can make more long-term arrangements. The Disaster Action Team members handle all on scene Red Cross activities for single family and multi-family (apartment/condo) fires as well as other small local emergencies. DAT members are also among the first to respond to larger disasters (hurricanes, winter storms, etc) that affect our area.
