Mission of The Red Cross
The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers, guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. What makes this possible? The American Red Cross is neither a government agency nor is the American Red Cross funded by the government. Every year thousands of lives are saved by services provided by the Red Cross. Blood drives, disaster relief efforts, providing food and clothing, first aid, CPR and AED classes, and all of this is made possible by donations from people like you. Together, we can save a life
